In Edinburgh, the children of the Queen observe a vigil around her casket.

The day before, the new king of Britain and Camilla, the Queen Consort, were in London. They appeared in Parliament and accepted condolences from MPs.

On Monday, as mourners gathered to pay their respects, King Charles III led a royal procession carrying his mother’s casket to St. Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Before being transported to London on Tuesday, Queen Elizabeth II will repose in the cathedral.

The Queen Consort of Britain, Camilla, and the future monarch of Britain made an appearance in Parliament earlier on Monday.

In a statement, Prince Harry paid homage to his grandmother’s life and praised her for having “unwavering elegance and dignity,” which he said held true both throughout her lifetime and are now “her enduring legacy.”
