Before the Premier League match, a simulation predicts the outcome between Manchester United and Arsenal.

On Sunday, Arsenal will play Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford. We simulated the match to forecast the result.

As they attempt to make it six victories in a row in the Premier League this weekend against a resurgent Manchester United team, Arsenal will face their hardest test of the season thus far.

Last time out, Arsenal defeated Aston Villa 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli on each side of Douglas Luiz’s equalizer. Mikel Arteta’s team maintained their perfect record and continued to lead the league after the victory. They are currently the only team without a loss of points.

But this weekend, Arsenal will travel to Old Trafford to take on a Manchester United team that is in good form. The Gunners won the most recent matchup between the two teams 3-1 at the Emirates, although both teams have seen significant change since then.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mohamed Elneny, and Thomas Partey are all definite no-shows for Arsenal’s journey to the north. The absence of Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale, who are both being “examined” before the game, would be a major setback for the Gunners.

How would Arteta then line up while against Man United? Can the Gunners maintain their successful start to the year? To anticipate the outcome of the game, we ran a simulation.

Simulated score for Manchester United vs. Arsenal

We utilized FIFA 22 and updated the teams with the most recent transactions to construct this simulation. Both teams suited up in their 2021/22 season uniforms because FIFA 22 was missing the newest ones, and the kit numbers for new transfers may possibly be incorrect.

In a 4-2-3-1 system, Erik ten Hag’s team may start with the following lineup: De Gea; Dalot; Martinez; Varane; Malacia; Casemiro; McTominay; Sancho; Fernandes; Rashford; Ronaldo.

Then, we forecast that Arsenal may line up in a 4-3-3 formation with the following personnel: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Sambi Lokonga, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.

Man United dominated the opening half as Arsenal struggled to control the ball and Aaron Ramsdale faced many challenges. After United’s recent acquisition Antony was added with 20 minutes remaining, this continued into the second half, and Ramsdale needed to make a significant save to stop him.
